About DINA

Dina Folgia is a queer poet who was born and raised in southern New Jersey.  Her debut poetry collection Lucky Vessel is currently on submission.

Dina graduated magna cum laude with her BA  in Writing Arts from Rowan University in 2021, where she worked as an editor for Glassworks and Singularity Press. She is currently an MFA in Creative Writing candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University in her final year of study. During her time at VCU, she was the poetry editor of Blackbird from 2023-2024, and read for the Levis Reading Prize.  She also served for a time as an associate editor for Storm Cellar and the social media coordinator for River Mouth Review. 

 Her work  has been nominated for many awards and prizes, such as Best of the Net, Pushcart, and the AWP Intro Journals Project. Her poetry has or will be appearing in Poetry Northwest, Salamander, Ninth Letter Web Edition, Gigantic Sequins, Foglifter, the minnesota review, and many others. 

She currently lives in Richmond, VA and teaches creative writing at VCU.
