Dina Folgia is a queer poet who was born and raised in southern New Jersey. Her debut poetry collection Lucky Vessel is currently on submission.
Dina received her BA in Writing Arts from Rowan University, where she worked as an editor for Glassworks and Singularity Press. She then went on to receive her MFA in Creative Writing from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she read for the Levis Reading Prize, the Cabell First Novelist Award, and served as the poetry editor of Blackbird: an online journal of literature and the arts. She also served for a time as an associate editor for Storm Cellar and the social media coordinator for River Mouth Review.
Her work has been nominated for many awards and prizes, such as Best of the Net, Pushcart, and the AWP Intro Journals Project. Her poetry has or will be appearing in Poetry Northwest, Salamander, Ninth Letter Web Edition, Gigantic Sequins, Foglifter, the minnesota review, and many others.
She currently lives in Richmond, VA and teaches creative writing at VCU.
